About
I’m Jonas Riedinger – a passionate film editor with an eye for detail. I love the searching, the browsing, and the tinkering in and with film material. For me, film editing is an artistic form of expression and the process where everything comes together. Here, the film becomes the projection that moves audiences to feel and to reflect. And the editing room itself becomes a place of experimentation, of open exchange, of discussion and collaboration. For me, collaborative creative work is clearly at the center. A film only comes into being through the interplay of many talents who speak a common language.
Work Experience
During my training, in addition to learning how to use camera, sound, and lighting equipment, I gained a thorough understanding of professional post-production workflows. This technical and procedural knowledge served as the foundation upon which I built my creative development as a film editor and documentary director during my studies at the HFF Munich. During this time, I created several short films, such as Walud and Fata Morgana, which screened at various film festivals and won awards. Walud even made it onto the Oscars' longlist.
My portfolio also includes two feature-length films, Taste of Salt and Run Me Wild, which have significantly advanced my skills in both documentary and fictional storytelling. With Run Me Wild, we won Best Editing in the "Emerging Talent" category at the 2026 German Camera Awards.
